Bata Pakistan: A History of Excellence

Bata Pakistan is a subsidiary of Bata Limited, a global footwear company that was founded in 1894 in Czechoslovakia by Tomáš, Anna and Antonín Baťa. The company started with a simple shoe made of leather and canvas, called the Batovka, and soon expanded to other countries and continents. Bata established its first outlet in Lahore in 1942, before the partition of India and Pakistan. It survived the turmoil and violence of 1947 and was incorporated in Pakistan as Shoe Company (Pakistan) Limited in 1951. It went public in 1979 as Bata Pakistan Limited.

The company has been serving its customers with quality products and services since its inception. It has a strong retail network across the country, with over 500 outlets, 200 registered wholesale dealers, 10 sales offices, 9 distributors, and 5 wholesalers. The company also exports its products to international markets and earns foreign exchange. It employs about 10,000 people directly and indirectly, and contributes to the economic development of the country. It also fulfills its corporate social responsibility.
