The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the official kit “Star Nation Jersey” for the national team for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. The kit, named the “Star Nation Jersey”, was launched at a ceremony at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Monday, 28 August 2023.
The ‘Star Nation Jersey’ Features
The “Star Nation Jersey” features a star and the Pakistan flag on the chest area, symbolizing the identity and pride of the nation. The design is inspired by celestial bodies, where each star signifies excellence, ambition, and the brilliant shine of cricketing achievements. The jersey also reflects the rich cricketing heritage and the luminous future of Pakistan cricket.
The PCB Management Committee chairman Zaka Ashraf said that the jersey represents Pakistan’s spirit and determination as they are already sitting on the number one position in the ODI format. He expressed his hope that the team, led by Babar Azam, will win the World Cup in India.
“We have kept Pakistan’s star and flag on the chest which represents our identity. I am hopeful that our team, who is already number one in ODIs, will win the World Cup in India,” he said.
The PCB Director-Commercial Usman Waheed also shared his thoughts on the importance of the new jersey: “The Star Nation Jersey isn’t just a uniform; it’s a canvas woven with stories, sacrifices, and triumphs. Each star on this jersey represents the unwavering support of our fans and the radiant legacy of our cricketing heroes. Every detail has been meticulously crafted to ensure that donning this jersey will instill profound pride in every Pakistani.”

Pakistan will start their World Cup campaign on 6 October against Netherlands in Hyderabad. They will play against their arch-rivals India in a much-awaited contest on 14 October in Ahmedabad. The World Cup will be played in a round-robin format with all teams playing against each other for a total of 45 league matches. The top four teams will qualify for the semifinals, which will be held in Mumbai on 15 November and in Kolkata on 16 November. The final will be played in Kolkata on 19 November.
The “Star Nation Jersey” has received positive feedback from the fans, who have praised its design and aesthetics. Some fans have even called it the “best kit ever”. The jersey is available for pre-order on the PCB website.
